“we had been travelling around Jutland and we were staying in some old hotels that were not as clean per our standards. So we opted to have something with a little more with the North American feel to it. And this property did not disappoint at all. We loved it there.”
“I must admit I have mixed feelings towards the Atlantic Hotel.
The location is great, in front of the Dokk1, close to the channel (very lively at night), just 3 mins away from the bus station and 5 from the train station.
The room was very large and overall comfortable, with a large TV (but you need to include the sleep function: the proper key is in the remote controller, but it does no work), but with some strange flows. No fridge at all, nor - and it is far more weird - no phone in the room:...
“Downtown Aarhus is compact, making the hotel location ideal for getting everywhere. We walked all over the city and were also able to hop on the bus or light rail, as needed. Although the ambiance, decor, and architecture of the hotel stand out, the best aspect is the staff. They are engaging, knowledgeable, friendly, multilingual, and just an amazing group of people.”
“We really loved this hotel - very stylish and individual with great little quirks and staff who really seemed to care. There was no kettle in the room but free access at all times to hot drinks in the restaurant/lounge area which is a great space to relax in and includes an outside terrace area. The shower was great (shower curtain was fine!) and the provided toiletries were excellent quality and included conditioner too. Free wine hours a couple of times a week were a nice touch. No fridge at all, nor - and it is far more weird - no phone in the room: to contact the hotel you have to call with your phone, or to go downstairs. Rather odd, indeed.
Even more weird: the cleaning of the room is optional, and you have to opt-in, the night before, till 11 PM. I understand the environmental ground behind this choice, but it's nevertheless very strange. An opt-out solution might perhas work better, without giving the impression that this is a way to save money with the cleaning at the expenses of an absent-minded guest (I was not alerted of that as of the check-in). Furthermore, the room is pretty dark: more light might be good, and a general switcher next to the bed even more (I had to switch off each device separately).
The breakfast is simply great, very rich and high quality, with a wonderful view from the 10th floor. Well done; the table reservation system for the weekend worked very well.
I would be please to visit Hotel Atlantic again in the future; if they take care of these flaws, it would be an even greater pleasure."
